In practice

Capacity Building — "Establishing Evaluation Systems" (The Aya Foundation)

As the Aya Foundation entered its second year of operations, its CEO and board needed to establish strong program evaluation systems to tell their impact story. Aya turned to Corona Insights to help them craft a theory of change, create data collection tools, and implement lightweight data systems that staff could easily manage. After designing these tools, we coached and guided the Aya team in implementing them over the following two years, helping their staff feel confident in their own evaluation skills. The data we have collected has helped Aya raise funds to provide even more Black entrepreneurs with the essential tools and networks they need to succeed.

Message Testing — "Optimizing Outreach Messaging" (Colorado Behavioral Health Administration)

As Colorado's Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) was embarking on a major communications campaign for the state's 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, their communications firm turned to Corona Insights to optimize their messaging. Our message testing approach leveraged general population surveys, demographic-specific surveys of parents and children, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and online bulletin boards. Armed with insights from this research, we were able to guide the BHA in crafting a campaign that not only raises awareness but also effectively educates the public about the 988 service in a resonant and culturally competent way.

Evaluation Implementation — "Evaluating Health Access Programming" (Denver Indian Health and Family Services)

For over a decade, Denver Indian Health and Family Services (DIHFS) has partnered with Corona Insights on a range of research and evaluation projects. Our partnership has included multiple community health needs assessments, community and staff surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews with AI/AN community members, outcome and process evaluations, clinical and administrative data analysis, and reporting based on these activities for program staff, DIHFS leadership, and funders. These projects have helped DIHFS ensure programs align with community needs, fulfill critical state and federal grant requirements, and raise their organization's profile as one of the country's leading Urban Indian Health Programs.
