The Charter.
The mission, purpose, norms, and governance that hold this collaborative together — and the standard every member firm commits to upholding.
To amplify the impact of our partner firms and the nonprofits we serve.
Trusted advisors, working together for the sector.
The Colorado Nonprofit Advisory Collaborative exists to bring together trusted professional service providers who are deeply committed to strengthening the nonprofit sector.
By fostering collaboration rather than competition, we seek to provide nonprofits with the highest quality guidance, resources, and leadership support during times of growth, transition, and change.
A community of practice — not a referral exchange.
As members of this collaborative, each partner firm agrees to uphold shared values, actively contribute to the community, and prioritize the flourishing of nonprofits in Colorado.
Membership is not merely a referral exchange — it is a community of practice where learning, generosity, and stewardship shape every interaction.
Ten commitments every member firm makes.
These norms govern how we treat nonprofit clients, how we treat one another, and how we show up for the sector as a whole.
Client-Centered First
We prioritize the long-term success and mission impact of nonprofit clients — even when that means placing their needs ahead of our own commercial interests.
Abundance Over Self-Orientation
We operate from a spirit of long-term abundance, sharing opportunities, referrals, and insights openly and without expectation of near-term reciprocity.
Respect for Specialization
We honor each other's expertise and only take on work we are best qualified to do — referring out when others are better suited to serve.
High Trust, Low Ego
We show up with humility, candor, and respect, assuming good intent and addressing conflicts directly and constructively when they arise.
Equity-Informed Practice
We commit to equitable approaches in our own firms and in the ways we support nonprofits — recognizing the lived experiences, power dynamics, and systemic barriers at play.
Mission Before Margin
We serve nonprofits with the intention of building long-term capacity, not short-term revenue. We believe ethical, values-aligned consulting strengthens the sector as a whole.
Shared Learning & Growth
We exchange ideas, tools, and experiences to improve our collective effectiveness and stay ahead of the evolving needs of the nonprofit community.
Sector Stewardship
We recognize our influence as advisors and conduct our work with integrity, transparency, and care — knowing that how we serve matters as much as what we deliver.
Confidentiality & Discretion
We protect the confidentiality of nonprofit clients and each other, recognizing the sensitive nature of transition, governance, and funding work.
Active Participation
We show up. We contribute. We treat this collaborative as a community of practice, not just a referral network.
Peer‑led. Consensus‑governed.
The collaborative operates as a peer-led network. Decisions about new members, initiatives, and shared activities are made collectively, guided by consensus and grounded in the collaborative's mission and norms.
A trusted, enduring resource for Colorado nonprofit leaders.
Through mutual respect, open collaboration, and a shared commitment to the health of the nonprofit sector, we aim to be a trusted, enduring resource for nonprofit leaders across Colorado — helping them not only navigate challenges, but also flourish in advancing their missions.
