In practice
Videos for fundraising
The Bullying Recovery Resource Center was planning its first gala, and the founders knew it would take more than a good venue and menu to meet their ambitious fundraising goal. They needed a story. A personal story. At Denver Film & Digital, that's our starting point — what story gets to the heart of what you do, and who can tell it well? BRRC recommended a young woman they helped after she was relentlessly bullied in her senior year in high school. And when she ended her story by saying, "they saved my life," the gala audience understood everything they needed to know about BRRC. They opened their wallets.
Videos for defining and informing
With such a competitive nonprofit landscape these days, it's crucial for your organization to define itself — what it does, what it does well, how it solves problems, how it stands apart. A good video can do that colorfully and concisely. But videos can do so much more. After we did a website video for Denver Metro Village, an affordable senior housing complex, they asked if we could make an orientation video so they didn't have to explain "a zillion things" to new tenants every day. A little brainstorming, a lot of shooting, and voila — a full orientation video showing new tenants how things work, in English and Spanish.
Videos for image building
We all know it. Marketing is not a one-and-done thing. At Denver Film & Digital, we like to think of ourselves as video partners with our clients. Yes, we believe it makes a positive difference to have professional videos for your fundraising events and your website — it shows you take your nonprofit seriously. We also believe in cultivating a culture of video storytelling that doesn't depend on us for every little thing. With the amazing camera in your pocket and a little coaching from us, you can help create a library of video assets. The internet has a voracious appetite. We'll make the entrée, and we'll help you make some yummy side dishes to fill your social media menu.
